What Are Esoteric Studies?


Esoteric philosophy offers a practical understanding of “that which is hidden” – the invisible, subtle dimensions of existence that surround and infuse the dense material world. This includes the nature of the Cosmos (the greater life, of which we are a part) and the dual nature of human consciousness.

It provides a framework for discerning the difference between the “higher” nature of the Soul or Self (which is inherently aware of our relationship to all of life, and whose qualities include compassion, inclusivity, wisdom), and the expression of the small self or separative personality. Using well-defined, proven, and safe techniques to integrate Soul and the personality, individuals deepen their alignment with higher levels of consciousness, becoming true change agents as conduits of Spirit in a world that very much needs higher vision and upliftment.

Our coursework is a synthesis of eastern and western spiritual traditions and is focused on the Ageless Wisdom teachings as presented in the books by Alice Bailey, supplemented by reading material from Agni Yoga, the Bhagadvad Gita, psychosynthesis, theosophy, and the Upanishads, and others.

It is understood that the Soul is the true Teacher, and the School offers materials and coaching to facilitate what is always a very individual process. The work is non-sectarian and conducted by correspondence (email or postal mail), maintaining strict confidentiality between the student and those who guide his or her work through regular, personalized commentary. There are no grades, and the student’s progress is measured against his or her own highest potential.
